The short answer
Not one you can sign up for. eBay's only sold-data API, Marketplace Insights, is a limited release for approved partners. The Finding API's findCompletedItems was shut down on February 5, 2025, and the Browse API only returns active listings.
Developers now use third-party sold listings APIs. In our blind 100-search accuracy test, CompSniper returned the fewest wrong items (6.3%, against 20.7% to 28.8% for the others). See the full ranking.

What developers use instead
Independent APIs return eBay sold listings from a single request with an API key, no eBay approval needed. They differ most on accuracy, history and marketplaces:
- CompSniper: most accurate in testing, price summary on every response, 3 years of history and accepted Best Offer prices, plus Poshmark, Mercari, TCGplayer and Grailed.
- eBay Sold Listings API: JSON or CSV on any search and batch jobs of 100 keywords, the lowest cost at volume.
- Soldgraph: the most marketplaces on one key.
- CompsAPI: the lowest entry price per request and a stored archive.
- Trawl: a stored database of US and UK sales.
Prices, limits and the full accuracy results are in the 2026 ranking.
How to choose
- Test accuracy on your own items. Search something that sold yesterday and check that the rows are the same item and the price matches eBay.
- Check Best Offer handling. If you price cards, watches or sneakers, an API that returns the listed price on Best Offer sales will price you too high.
- Match the history you need. Most APIs cover about 90 days; a few go back 3 years.
- Price it at your volume. Compare the cost per 1,000 successful requests, not just the entry plan.
Only need a few prices by hand? The free sold price search on this site needs no key or account.
