Sold prices
- Sales counted. Completed eBay sales from the last 90 days or so on the eBay site you pick, up to 240 per search.
- Wrong items left out. Listings for a different model, grade or set, accessories, cases, parts-only units and look-alikes are removed before any statistic is calculated.
- Median paid price. The middle sale price of the remaining sales. Half of the sales sold for more, half for less.
- Typical range. The 25th to 75th percentile, where the middle half of sales landed.
- Best Offer sales. eBay shows the listing price on a sale that closed on an accepted offer. Where the accepted price is available we show it, with the listing price crossed out.
- Currency. Each eBay site's own currency, never converted.
API accuracy tests
The rankings use our own October 20, 2026 blind test: 100 searches written in advance across trading cards, electronics, fashion and collectibles, sent to each API on the same day with its default settings.
- Wrong-match rate. For each search, the share of returned rows that were not the item searched for, then averaged over the 100 searches.
- Labeling. Each search has a written definition of the correct item (for example grade, set and card number). Rows were labeled against it without knowing which API returned them. Labels were judged by an AI model.
- Median error. The distance between each API's median and the median of the correct sales.
- Prices and plans. Checked on each vendor's public pricing page on the date shown at the top of each article.
The searches were split 50 trading cards, 20 electronics, 13 fashion and 17 collectibles, and about 18,000 unique returned rows were labeled. Download the results by API and the 100 searches with their definitions. APIs not in the test are ranked on features and price only and are marked "Not tested".
