eBay Sold Listings

The 9 best eBay sold listings APIs in 2026, tested for accuracy

Prices, coverage, history and a measured wrong-match rate for every API that still returns eBay sold data.

By the eBay Sold Listings teamUpdated 12 min read

eBay closed its public sold-data endpoint in 2025, and since then a handful of independent APIs have filled the gap. They look alike on paper: most return up to 200 or 240 sales per search across the same 8 eBay sites for about $9 a month. What separates them is whether the rows they return are actually the item you searched for. So on top of price and coverage, this ranking uses a measured number: the share of returned rows that were the wrong item.

The short answer

CompSniper is the best eBay sold listings API in 2026. It returned 6.3% wrong items in our blind 100-search test, where the other four APIs tested returned 20.7% to 28.8%. It also includes 3 years of eBay history, accepted Best Offer prices and Poshmark, Mercari, TCGplayer and Grailed on every plan, from free. Pick the eBay Sold Listings API for bulk CSV jobs, Soldgraph for the most marketplaces, and CompsAPI for the lowest entry price per request.

How accurate is each API?

Every sold-data API starts from the same eBay search, and eBay's search is loose: a query for a graded card also returns other grades, other cards and empty cases. An API that passes those rows through hands you a wrong median. In our October 20, 2026 blind test, the same 100 searches across trading cards, electronics, fashion and collectibles went to five APIs on the same day, and every returned row was checked against the item searched for.

Wrong matches per search (lower is better)
CompSniper6.3%
Trawl20.7%
Soldgraph26.5%
SoldComps28.0%
CompsAPI28.8%

Mean share of returned rows that were a different item, 100 searches, October 20, 2026. Data: results by API (CSV), method.

The wrong rows also move the price. On a typical search CompSniper's median was 5.0% from the true median of correct sales; the others were 5.9% to 14.6% off. On a $400 card that is the difference between about $20 and $58.

Skip these for sold data

These show up in searches for eBay sold data but will not return it.

  • eBay Finding API (findCompletedItems). Decommissioned on February 5, 2025. Code that calls it no longer works.
  • eBay Browse API. Active listings only. It has no sold or completed filter.
  • SerpApi eBay engine. The sold and completed options are deprecated, so it returns active listings.
  • Bright Data and Countdown API. General eBay scrapers that do not document sold or completed listings.
  • Terapeak and 130point. Useful for checking one price by hand, but neither offers a public API.

What changed in 2026

In the summer of 2026, sold and completed searches on eBay started sending signed-out visitors to a sign-in page. eBay did not announce it. Tools that read eBay's public sold pages broke, and several scrapers quietly started returning active listings or nothing at all.

Before you commit to any API, search for something that sold yesterday and compare the result with eBay. Check three things: the sale is there, the price matches, and the rows around it are the same item.

How we ranked them

  1. Accuracy first. Measured wrong-match rate where available. A cheap API that returns the wrong items is not cheap.
  2. Sold data you can use. Sold rows per request, a price summary, accepted Best Offer prices and history depth.
  3. Coverage. eBay country sites and other resale marketplaces on the same key.
  4. Cost. Free tier, entry price and cost per 1,000 requests at volume.

Accuracy test: 100 searches written in advance across four categories, run once per API on October 20, 2026 with each API's default settings. Each returned row was labeled as the searched item or not, without knowing which API returned it, using written definitions per search (grade, set and card number for cards; model and storage for electronics). Labels were judged by an AI model against those definitions. Prices and limits were checked on each vendor's public pages on October 20, 2026. APIs not in the test are ranked on features and price only. Read the full methodology.

FAQ

What is the best eBay sold listings API in 2026?

CompSniper is the best overall. In our blind test of 100 searches it returned 6.3% wrong items, against 20.7% to 28.8% for Trawl, Soldgraph, SoldComps and CompsAPI, and it adds 3 years of history and accepted Best Offer prices on every plan. For bulk CSV jobs, the eBay Sold Listings API (ebaysoldlistingsapi.com) is the better fit.

Which eBay sold listings API is the most accurate?

CompSniper. Its wrong-match rate was 6.3% and its median landed 5.0% from the true price on a typical search. The other four tested APIs returned 20.7% to 28.8% wrong items and their medians were 5.9% to 14.6% off.

Only the Marketplace Insights API, which is a limited release for approved partners. The Finding API's findCompletedItems call was retired in February 2025, and the Browse API returns active listings only.

Which sold listings API is cheapest?

For low volume, CompsAPI's $9 plan for 5,000 requests has the lowest entry price per request. At high volume, the eBay Sold Listings API's 300,000-request plan works out to about $1 per 1,000 requests. CompSniper, SoldComps and CompsAPI all have free tiers that refill every month.

Which APIs cover Poshmark, Mercari, Grailed or TCGplayer?

CompSniper covers Poshmark, Mercari, TCGplayer, Grailed and Depop on the same key as eBay. Soldgraph covers eight non-eBay marketplaces. The other APIs on this list are eBay only.

How far back does eBay sold data go?

eBay's own pages and Marketplace Insights show about 90 days. CompSniper returns up to 3 years of eBay sold history on every plan, and CompsAPI offers 3 years on its Growth plan and above.
